LETTER OF APPRECIATION
Dear Holiday Express,
Speaking for myself, as the consequences of a past which I am working diligently to not repeat, I have had to spend too much time away from my loved ones. This is especially
obvious to me during the Holiday Season, as family and community play such integral parts in many of the traditional celebrations.
This time of the year is known as Hurricane Season to those in recovery as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s deliver a rapid succession of opportunities for me to succumb to loneliness as I miss out on the sense of togetherness that pervades these occasions. The event you brought to us here helped me to forget this for a time, and was an excellent example of the spirit of community and the generosity of people in general.
The gift bags you provided to us are very much appreciated, as many of these items are essentials
and many of us here do not have loved ones in our lives to help provide these things. Even more than a material gift,
the spirit you brought to us in the form of a party,
