2007 Holiday Express Golf Classic Raises $64,000

127 golfers braved the heat on Monday, July 30th to raise an estimated $64,000 for the Holiday Express scholarship program. The scholarship program has provided financial assistance to students who would not otherwise be able to further their education. More than $180,000 has been distributed since the scholarship program began in 2000.
Golfers who attended the event at the Manasquan River Golf Club in Brielle were treated to lunch, golf, cocktails, and dinner to help raise money for Holiday Express. Big Joe Henry, New Jersey 101.5 disc jockey and long time supporter of Holiday Express hosted the live auction to raise money for the cause.
Each Holiday Express event comes complete with a visit from the Grinch, Frosty and of course Santa. While the live music provided by the Holiday Express musicians enlivens the party, the volunteer elves are busy painting faces, helping with arts and crafts, dancing, smiling, and giving plenty of hugs to the audience.
Established by Tim McLoone in 1993, Holiday Express is a non profit organization that delivers music, food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those with the greatest need for the gift of human kindness during the holiday season and throughout the year. Holiday Express is comprised of more than 600 volunteers, including 70 professional rock, jazz, folk, gospel and pop musicians.
